A Church of the Word, for the City
The Master's Church is an elder-led congregation committed to the authority of Scripture, the glory of God in worship, and the formation of disciples who live and speak the gospel.
A Greeting from Pastor Michael Park

2 Timothy 4:2
Thank you for visiting The Master’s Church. Whether you are exploring the Christian faith, new to the area, or looking for a church home, we are glad you are here. We believe God builds His church not through human wisdom or clever methods, but through His Word. That is why every Sunday we open the Scriptures and work through them passage by passage, seeking to say what the text says and to apply it faithfully to our lives. We would be honored to have you worship with us. Near the end of his life, the apostle Paul gave young Timothy a charge that remains our calling today:
“Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.”
2 Timothy 4:2 (ESV)
In Christ,
Pastor Michael Park
Pastor-Teacher, The Master's Church
What does “The Master’s Church” mean?
“On this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.” (Matthew 16:18)
The English word master appears in several passages in the Bible and is translated in the Korean Revised Version as either “teacher” (Matt. 10:24–25) or “lord/master” (Matt. 15:27; 24:45; Mark 13:35; Luke 12:42; John 15:15)—all referring to Jesus. The Greek word behind this term is κύριος (Kyrios), used over 700 times in the New Testament—more than 600 of which are translated as “Lord.” This is by far the most frequent word used to describe the relationship between the redeemed and Jesus Christ. It means: the Lord and His slaves.
Thus, The Master’s Church simply means: The Lord’s Church.
Jesus Christ is the Lord of all, and before the foundation of the world, by His sovereign grace, He chose His church to be with Him forever (Eph. 1:3). The church is the precious bride of Christ (Rev. 19:7), and Jesus loved her so much that He gave Himself up for her on the cross (Eph. 5:25). The church is also the body of Christ, purchased with His own blood (Acts 20:28), and therefore belongs exclusively to Him. Jesus did not say, “I will build our church,” but rather, “I will build My church.” It is not we who build the church—it is the Lord Himself who builds His own church.
And that promise has been fulfilled, is being fulfilled, and will continue to be fulfilled.
Jesus Christ is the foundation and cornerstone of the church (Eph. 2:20). He builds His church as the pillar and support of the truth (1 Tim. 3:15). He is the Head of the church (Col. 1:18), who governs it by His Word and supplies the whole body through the joints and ligaments (Col. 2:19). He is the Good Shepherd (John 10:11), who lovingly cares for, leads, protects, feeds, and causes the church to grow.
It is our earnest prayer that The Master’s Church would never lose sight of this identity—that from beginning to end, it would truly be His church.
Why We Exist
Our Vision
A Church Built on the Word — a church established by the Word alone and growing ever more like Christ alone. Our vision is to become a God-centered community through the faithful exposition of Scripture and the proclamation of the truth.
Our Mission
Our mission is to teach the Scriptures, proclaim the gospel, and make disciples of Jesus Christ. We seek to carry out this calling faithfully on five pillars: worship, teaching, fellowship, evangelism, and missions.
Core Commitments
- Expository Preaching — Every sermon opens and explains a passage of Scripture verse by verse.
- Sound Doctrine — We teach the inerrant Word of God, salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, and God’s sovereignty over all things.
- Congregational Worship — Our gatherings are shaped by reverence, truth, and participation of the whole body.
- Discipleship & Community — Growth happens in relationship; small groups and one-another ministry are central.
- World Missions — We send and support missionaries who plant gospel-preaching churches.
How We Got Here
-
2026
Founding Service
In 2026, a small group of believers gathered to plant a church rooted in the Word. The first service was held in a modest space in Nowon-gu, Seoul — the beginning of The Master’s Church.
